If you are looking for a camera to purchase, you may want to consider a Pentax camera.
Pentax can retrieve Jpeg's data from the buffer memory and saves it as a separate RAW image file
Pentax camera allows you to save the RAW image file from the buffer.
Have you had an experience that you took a good pic but you saved only Jpeg file? After taking a picture, I regret myself for not saving it with the RAW format. This function is useful in such cases.
The function to save the RAW image file from the buffer is very easy to use. The usage is firstly to push an FX3 button if using Pentax KP while the camera shows the image you took. The next is to press the FX3 button again when the camera shows a message Save RAW Data.
You can save a RAW file because the last RAW file remains in the camera buffer even after finishing that the camera shows the picture you took by the way.
Caution: Make sure to save all your RAW photos before you turn off your camera or the buffer will delete the data.
The function of One Push File Format
This function allows you to save both Jpeg and RAW temporarily. You can push the FX1 button to sue this function
If the camera setting is the default, KP will return to take a photo with JPEG after you take a photo.
TAv Mode (Only Pentax)
It is like a combination of Shutter Priority Mode (Tv) and Aperture Priority Mode (Av).
This mode is as follows:
・You can set the aperture
・You can choose Shutter speed
・The camera sets ISO
・You can customize Exposure
You can set the aperture, shutter speed, and exposure When using TAv Mode. The camera will change the ISO and EV settings automatically unlike manual mode.
Manual Mode lets us choose Aperture, Shutter speed, and ISO. The camera sets the exposure by itself
Digital Preview (Only Pentax)
A digital preview allows you to check the exposure as well as everything (aperture, shutter speed, focus, white balance, custom image, etc) without saving the data in the SD card.
Some people may not feel the need of the digital preview function but this feature has a release mode so you can save or delete the picture you took on the spot. This should alleviate some of the hassle of organizing all of the photos that you didn't like after your photo session
Release mode allows you to take pictures even if the camera isn't in focus.
Conclusion
I hope this article offered a great insight into the PENTAX camera. It’s good to know what kind of features you are looking for a camera before making a purchase
